Create a New Script Template

On Trade Trak, you can easily create script templates to add into the description sections of various features on Trade Trak for a streamlined process that will save you time.

Accessing Script Templates

To access your script templates, click on your profile picture or name in the top right corner of the Trade Trak navigation bar to bring up the drop down menu. From there, select “Templates” and then select “Script Templates”.

On this page, you will be able to see all of the previous script templates you have created.

To easily find a previous template so you can view, edit or delete it, you can click “Show Filters” and narrow down your search by selecting which category it belongs to.

To edit or delete a script template, simply click the three dots next to the name of the script and select which one you would like.

To create a new script, click on the "Add Script" button in the top right hand corner.

First, fill out the name of the script you wish to create. Then, select which category you would like the template to be available for. The features we currently allow scripts for are:

  • Jobs
  • Quotes
  • Invoices
  • Orders
  • Notes
  • SWMS
  • Reports
  • SMS

If you would like to be able to use the template in multiple areas, simply leave it as Uncategorised.

Next, you will create the script itself in the template box. To add in a placeholder such as “User Name” or “Current Date”, click on the grey writing of the corresponding placeholder in the section below the template box.

Note: The section of Generic Placeholders can only be used in the Quote, Invoice, Note, Order and SWMS script templates. For placeholders for the Job descriptions, you must use the Job Information Placeholders below.

Finally, once you are done, click the “Save” button at the bottom of the screen to create the script template.
