Data Imports
Importing clients and suppliers from your accounting software or past job management system is easily done on Trade Trak.
Note: Only CSV files are able to be imported. You can change your file’s format when saving it in your chosen application (e.g. Excel).
Accessing Data Management
To access data import settings, click on your icon in the top right corner of the navigation bar, and from the drop-down menu, select 'Company settings'.
From the next drop-down menu, click on 'Data Management'.
Importing Data
To start the process, first select from the drop-down menu whether you would like to import a file for clients or suppliers.
Next, upload your file by dragging it into the box or selecting to browse your files.
Note: In order for CSV files to import properly, mobile phone numbers must begin with a 0 or your area code. Please also ensure that there are no letters in this field.
Matching Data Fields
Once your file has successfully been uploaded, you will need to match the fields with the data in your document.
Only fields marked with an asterisk are mandatory. The fields you are able to match are:
- Name *
- Address Line 1
- Address Line 2
- Suburb
- Postcode
- State
- Country
- Phone
- ABN
- Fax Number
- Primary Contact First Name * (can be a repeat of the Name field)
- Primary Contact Last Name
- Primary Contact Office Number
Note: We suggest using titles for each column of information on your file to make the matching process simpler.
Press 'Import Data' once you have matched all of the required fields.
Your clients or suppliers may take a few minutes to appear on the app.
You will receive an email notification once the import is complete.
