Setting File Permissions
For any file that you upload on Trade Trak, you’re able to set the permissions to restrict or allow other users access as needed. To learn about file management, read our article here.
Accessing Files
From the jobs module, select the job that you would like to edit file permissions for. On the left-hand side navigation bar, select ‘Files’.
File permissions can be set in two ways.
1) Uploading a New File
To add a new document to a job, click ‘Upload File’. Here you will be asked to upload your file. You will also be asked to fill out details about the file, including the permissions you would like to set.
The permission settings options are:
- Anyone with job access
- Strict access
- Selected user groups
Note: Strict access and Selected user groups will add another text box where you can select the users you would like to have access to the file from a drop-down menu
2) Edit a File
From the Files page on your chosen job, select the ‘...’ button on the row of the file you would like to change permission settings for.
A menu will pop up with edit options. Select ‘Permissions’.
This will prompt a box to appear with the permission setting options:
- Anyone with job access
- Strict access
- Selected user groups
Note: Strict access and Selected user groups will add another text box where you can select the users you would like to have access to the file from a drop-down menu
Press 'Save' when your changes have been made.
